CPSIA Update for Small Business Crafters

The CPSC finally published a guide for the home-based crafter / small business owner, and those of us who don't keep a lawyer on retainer to translate legal mumbo jumbo into plain english ;)

For the layperson, the meat and potatoes of it is this... The CSPC is not "out to get you" or shut down your small crafty biz. They are mostly after big brand manufacturers that sell children's items and or supplies for making those items using batches of mystery plastics and paints in overseas factories. If you have confidence that the products you use are safe (either because you use manufactured supplies carrying safety labelling, or you have used all natural materials that have not been altered chemically in any way, you are good to go, until Feb. 10, 2010 anyway.
